Happy Easter

Things just never quite turn out like you plan. All of the sudden on Friday night, Taylee got a fever of 102*. She was so miserable and so upset. So after a couple of hours, I took her to the kids care. They could not find any signs of infection, and just assume she has a virus. (Probably the same one that Taylor got while here in Utah, cause now she is throwing up too.) So yesterday, we had her stay home and rest all day hoping that she would be back to herself by today. So since Easter was tomorrow and we have such early church, I came up with a great plan. The Easter Bunny left the kids a note telling them that since we had such early church, he would come while we were gone. Well, since none of the kids ended up at church today, that plan was shot. So I created a new plan. I told the kids that I would call the bunny on his "bunny phone" when daddy and I got home from church. (My kids are getting to old, they asked how I would get his number .... ahhhh, "I'll look it up on the internet. Whew, I got out of that, for now.) Then right during our primary class, just when I need help, Heath gets a call and has to leave to go to work and didn't get home until like 3 this afternoon. Finally, when he got home we called the "bunny phone" and sent Tydon out on walk with Grandpa Holverson. (Taylee and Kamdon were both still napping) and the Bunny was able to visit our house. It isn't going to be long before the bunny "story" has to be told to Taylee and Tydon. Tydon came home from his walk and said, "you guys just hid the eggs didn't you." I was able to fake my way out one more time. I guess next year, I will have to be a more clever Bunny. To top off our evening, we were just ready to eat Easter dinner, and Heath's phone rang again and off to work he goes. To myself I think, it doesn't even fill like Easter and things just have not gone as planned. As for the infamous matching "Easter Outfits" that I stressed about, we will be wearing them to church next week -- knock on wood -- NO MORE SICK KIDS!
Last Night we dyed our Easter Eggs. Taylee felt pretty good, she she was able to join in. Kamdon fell asleep before we started, so we decided to take his picture with an egg that had his name on it.

The kids found all the eggs that the bunny had hidden. Taylee found a few eggs and then laid back down to rest.

The Easter Bunny left Kamdon a new slide. He is so funny on it. He just giggles and talks gibberish a million miles a minute as he goes up and down the slide. It is so funny!

The Easter Bunny hid all the Easter Baskets (that is a GREAT Easter tradition that we all LOVE) and left us all some great presents.

The "Easter Bunny" surprised me with the cutest new Shoes that I had been looking at. I was so excited and no idea that "he" was even paying attention to me. What a great Honey Bunny! We hope you all have a great Easter. We miss all of you!!

Spring is in the Air

The first words out of Taylee's mouth when she walks in the front door after school are, "Mom, can I play." She loves to play with her friends and is so excited for the warm weather. Yesterday, She looked so cute in her new spring shirt!

Tydon got to have an Easter Egg Hunt today at school! They had to pick up an egg, come to an adult and read the word or do the math problem on the egg. Then they could go find another egg. He had a great time.

Kamdon loves being outside!! He wants to play ball and jump on the trampoline all day. He gets so MAD when we make him come inside!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

I am not a huge fan and celebrator of St. Patty's Day, but since the older kids are in school and are learning about the day of green we did enjoy the holiday a little more this year. Tydon made sure that we knew he had to wear green today. He decided that he wanted to wear his Green Bay Packers jersey, so of course Kamdon had to match. (And when Heath got home from work, he, of course, added his jersey to the bunch.) Taylee found the only green she had in her closet and announced that her jacket was getting to small (I can't keep up with her growing lately) but that she would wear in anyway since it was green. I actually spent the time today and made sugar cookies, a new recipe off of the Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Blog (you can link to it from my blog ... we have tried a few really good recipes from here). We made little clover shapes (they are delicious and the frosting is soooo good) and decided to decorate them for FHE and took them to the kids Primary teachers to say Thanks for teaching us. It was kind of fun to have our day filled with green, maybe next year I will try to be more on top of it and have the leprechaun visit and leave us all some gold!

Hope you all had a great day filled with "Green"!

Family Fun Weekend

We were able to spend a great weekend together with our Wonderful Family (WE MISSED THE BROWNINGS). We spent time eating out (one of our favorite things to do together is to go to The Little America for Brunch), shopping, playing, and just enjoying each other's company! Thanks mom and dad for all you do and it was great to have the Hatch family, Dad and Mom, and Chad and Jessica here with us for the weekend. (my camera was taken with us to brunch and that's all the pictures I have, so hopefully Ashley shares her photo's of the other things we did, and Mom will share the Easter Bunny Photo!)

Everyone Enjoyed the Food at Brunch!!

Green Eggs ???

Last week Tydon and Taylee got to celebrate Dr. Seuss Day at school. In Tydon's class, his teacher made green eggs and ham. Tydon came home so excited about the eggs and kept telling me how delicious they were. He wanted them for lunch the rest of the week. I asked him how his teacher made them, he said, "she mixed the eggs, put lettuce in them to make them green, and added the ham." I was stumped with the lettuce. I had never heard of that trick before. Finally, I actually got a chance to ask his teacher what she actually had done and sure enough it was just food coloring as I had suspected. So, we came right home and made green eggs & ham for lunch.

We Spiced Things Up

Heath spent much of the afternoon "Spicing" up our lives by making our favorite homemade salsa. He asked specifically if he could chop all the veggies so they were to his liking. (I guess I puree them and not chop ... I didn't argue, he did most of the "dirty" work.)

We have been out of salsa for a couple of weeks now and since it is of Tydon's main food groups, I decided it was time to spice it up. It turned out so great! This is the best sweet salsa recipe ever!! (and it is pretty easy to make - just takes time) If anyone is interested in it, I will post it, and if not, you are missing out!!
