My Chicken Has An "Owie"

Anyone Hungry?? We stopped by McDonald's for breakfast on our way out of town this morning. We get all the kids situated and head to the interstate. Everyone is happy and enjoying their breakfast UNTIL ...
Yes, you guessed it! The most awful and thoroughly disgusting thing really happened! Kamdon had enjoyed his hash browns and most of had finished our sandwich's when he opened his and says, "Mom, my chicken has an owie!" I look back and see him holding a band aid in the air! I throw my seat belt off and throw myself over the seats to see what is going on. Sure enough, this wonderfully dirty band aid was in my kids breakfast. I ABOUT THREW UP!! By this time it has been 25 minutes since going through the drive thru and we are already of town. I decide to wrap up his sandwich and immediately called the local office. The lady took my information and shortly after I get a call from the store manager. They did what they could to reassure me this isn't acceptable and apologized over and over again. They will be refunding my money and are sending me some free food coupons. (It may take us awhile to use those up!) Anybody up for a fast food breakfast?

Our 1st grade Distinguished Dolphin

Tydon earned their Distinquished Dolphin Award this week! Tydon has worked hard this year and accomplished many goals! Great Job

School Carnival

Monday Night the kids had their school carnival. Taylee and Tydon were so excited to climb the rock wall this year. The line was long, but the kids stuck it out and had a great time!
Taylee scaled right up to near the top.

Tydon was just a little nervous, but did a great job!! He wasn't quite tall enough to reach the pegs by himself!

Happy Father's Day to the Greatest

Father's Day was a BUSY (did I say busy, I mean't out of control) work day for Heath which leads to a crazy and exausting "mom" weekend for me. So we are finally getting around
to wish Heath and the other father's in our life a Happy Father's Day!Thanks for all you do for our family!! We love you all!

Rain, Rain Go Away

As most of you know, the weather in Utah has been full of thunderstorms and afternoon pour downs. On Father's Day, it was no Exception!!
The Kids are just of tired of the crazy summer weather, as I am. They decided to play in the storm while I baked Heath's Favorite Dessert.

After the Rain Storm, I think my children are just outside enjoying the sun .... SILLY ME! They are out in our alley way, "swimming" in the huge stream (more like a creek) of water coming down the way to empty into the drain. WHO NEEDS A POOL and who needs a Swim Suit ... church clothes work great! Kyler loves to be doing everything the big kids are doing, and this was no exception!

Crazy KIDS!

My Baby Boy is ONE

On June 16th, our little man turned one! I can hardly believe that you are already one. It is a bitter sweet moment for me! I'm not sure I am ready for you to grow up. I want to bottle up all the baby left in you and stick it on my shelf! You bring such joy to our family with all of the sweet smiles that you share! You are our Kyler the Smiler!

Just after we lite the candle, you stuck your finger in the hot flame. You just kind of sat there and then cried when we all started to yell at you to stop! Thanks to everyone for all the gifts!
HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY KYLER!

Birthday Party for Kyler

We had a quick birthday celebration with the Merrill family while we were home celebrating Elder Merrill's homecoming talk! Kyler liked dipping his fingers into the frosting, but wouldn't really eat the cake.
Kyler loved the candle. He really wanted to touch it!

Tydon's School Program

Tydon's class has done a few cute programs this year and this one was no exception! Great Job Tydon, we all had a great show!

I'm Going There Some Day

Grandma, Sarah, and Makinley came for a visit! We decided that while they were here, we would tour the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. Taylor, Braxton, and Ashley were also able to go! We all had a great time together and the kids loved being in such a beautiful place.

Motorcycle Fun

Kamdon and Taylor both love riding the power wheel 4-wheelers. They were having a blast driving all around the alley way!
Kamdon is in love with motorcycles! He begs Heath to take him on his "cycle!" He is in heaven when dad gives him a ride!!

Oquirrh Mountain Temple

Heath and I had the amazing, once in a lifetime, opportunity to serve in the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House yesterday! We volunteered and were asked to serve as Ushers. We reported to the chapel nearby yesterday morning at 10:45 a.m for some training. We met up with some other ward and stake members and were given our assignments and our instructions. We were so excited to find out where we would be serving our 4 hours. Heath was stationed in the celestial room and I was just outside. What an amazing opportunity to feel of the spirit that dwells in this holy temple. Heath was kind enough to trade off with all of the other ushers that were around us, as each of us wanted our chance to stand in and feel of the wonderful spirit that is in the beautiful celestial room. The different responses, gasps, tears, smiles, and facial expressions of guests was priceless in this beautiful room. Our job as Usher was to stand in our spot, being the last thing people saw in the area, and to just smile to everyone that walked by. It wasn't packed with people, but seemed to have a steady flow. By the end of our shifts, we were tired of standing, but so grateful for the opportunity to serve in the beautiful temple that has been built just a few blocks from our house. We are truly blessed to have a temple in our subdivision.
After a great day, we headed to pick up our kids. Ashley so graciously offered to watch our two youngest so that we could have the chance to serve. THANK YOU, ASHLEY! We decided a good way to end the day would be to take the kids to the pool for some family time. We enjoyed our time swimming! On the way home, we all just jumped in the car and headed toward home. We all were shocked when the bright red and blue lights were flashing behind us. The officer said that Heath had "rolled through the 4 way stop" and that he noticed Taylee bobbling around in the back. We explained that we were just on our way home from the pool and that was the reason for the lack of seat belts. He took all of our information and brought back a warning for rolling through the sign and a ticket for not wearing a seat belt. WHAT A GUY!
This is a good reminder to us all (especially Taylee, who was certain that we were all going to jail) that we need to put on that important safety belt even in our own subdivisions!!

A Little More Soccer

Soccer Season is starting to wind down. Here are a few quick shots at last Saturday's game!

The Yellow Dragon's won with one goal! Great job!!

Skate Night

Last Friday evening, the school hosted a family Skate Night! They had a DJ, music, games, food and lots of fun for the kids. This is my most favorite photo of the night. Kyler loved taking off and putting on the kids helmets! He also loved watching the kids skate around the parking lot!

The Skate Train

Kamdon fell on his skates before we even left the house, so he just watched most of the evening! He really enjoyed his snow cone ... hence the blue lips!
