Kamdon had been fighting reoccurring ear infections since October. It has been a long haul with antibiotics, Tylenol or Motrin, and a miserable boy. The past two weeks have been no different and maybe even worse. We scheduled him to have Tubes put in his ears in hopes that it would solve his problems. This last week we have had to do one more antibiotic. Kamdon's little system had had enough. The diaper rash was horrible and the sores in his mouth made him so miserable. His poor tongue and gums were so swollen that he just didn't want to eat. He was getting up every hour throughout the night, which made it difficult for Heath and I to function during the day! One afternoon, He was so miserable and could not get comfortable. He finally fell asleep sitting up. We have been counting down to surgery day in hopes that our happy little boy is behind the awful ear infections.
Kamdon did great with his surgery. We had to be at the surgical center at 6:30 A.M. He was so tired, but knew that something was going on. He hated the little gown that he had to wear and every time he jumped down off my lap, he ran behind this big green chair to hide and quickly jumped back onto my lap whenever someone entered our room. I was so grateful that they gave him a sedation medication before they took him away. He was fairly calm and only cried for a second when the anesthesiologist came for him. Since he wasn't kicking and screaming, it made it a little easier for me to give my toddler to a complete stranger. The procedure took 5 minutes and I was only away from him for 20 minutes. It was quick and simple. When Kamdon saw me walk around the corner, after he was done, he started to cry. My arms were complete full of all our belongings, so we had to keep walking until we got to a recovery room. He quickly calmed down when I grabbed him. Then the recover nurse started talking and tried to take his heart rate and he went crazy. He was so angry and just kept pointing to the door! So for the next 25 minutes he cried. He just wanted to leave. Then he cried half way home and just did a complete turn around. He was happy as could be for the rest of the morning. He seems to be doing great!! He has been eating like crazy all day and is his happy go lucky self. We are just hoping and praying that this solves all of his ear troubles.
Besides a sick little guy, our family has been bowling (we especially love to do this for our family home evening activity), playing tennis, playing baseball, fishing, golfing, boxing, earning coins, dodging bullets and space ships and snow balls, we have been chasing balls, buying hotels, earning stars and carnival cards, and we been playing dodge ball, darts, and earning bags of marbles. LET ME TELL YOU, WE ARE EXHAUSTED AND ADDICTED! Tydon's Wii has really become a family affair. When he comes home from school he ropes me into playing with him. Next thing I know, Taylee is home from school and we have been playing for 3 hours. Where has my afternoon gone! I have been spending my blogging time (and everything else I was supposed to do during the day) on the Wii!

Heath got a new calling in our ward. He was called to teach the CTR 5 class. This is the class that is just coming from Sunbeams. The first week was crazy to say the least! I was asked to help him with his class until a team teacher is called. The first week we took pictures of the kids for a roll chart. Each week the kids get to add a sticker to their page. They think this is great. I was taking the pictures and I asked the kids if we should take "TEACHERS" picture. They thought that was great! They all started to yell, "CHEESE BURGER TEACHER!"
Finally, to add a little fun and exercise to Taylee life, we signed her up for gymnastics. Grandma and Grandpa Merrill gave Taylee some money for classes for her birthday that was in November. She really wanted to take Cheer leading with her money, but there were no other girls signed up, so she decided to try the gym class. She has been for a couple of weeks, and is really loving it. This will be a good start to tumbling so she can take Cheer next time around. (Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!)
And last, but not least, we are so excited that our ultrasound is next Tuesday! Watch for updates on the gender of our baby!
